Week 88 March 17, 2008

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Family,

First of all thanks so much for all the work you’ve been doing for me. I’ll print that letter up and sign it and send it off in the mail as soon as I can.

I feel a little lost and nervous right now with the whole process of getting re-registered and stuff. I don’t know exactly what needs to be done to get re-registered and get my scholarship stuff taken care of so I’m very grateful that you’re taking care of this stuff for me.

Here’s my plan so far- I will want to switch my major to Chemistry and get a degree in Biochemistry. I don’t have any idea what kind of classes I want to take and I think the best thing to do would be to talk to print up a DARS report (information about what classes I’ve taken and what classes I need to take- on the U website it’s possible to print on out) and talk to a counselor about what he/she thinks would be the next best step. That way we can be sure that I’m not forgetting to sign up for an important class or anything. Also one of the important things is seeing if I can get all my classes to be in the morning so that after lunch I would be able to work somewhere if possible.

With work I’m planning on trying to find work as soon as I can to be able to have a job during the year. For this reason it will be important to have my classes in the morning. I have picked up a few numbers and references of some missionaries here who have worked for people at home. I have a few options for work but not a lot. Basically I’m just going to worry about finding work when I get home but I’d like to work as soon as can but close to home.

Would you be able to do me a favor? I’m worried that the longer it takes to get re-registered and admitted that I won’t be able to have very many choices for what hours I want to take classes. I’m worried that I won’t be able to take all or at least most of my classes in the morning. Would you be able to find out what needs to be done to hurry and get me signed up for the classes that I need. Thanks so much!!!

We had transfers today and luckily, me and my companion are staying here in Livramento. Elder Burton who was living with us was transferred though and we’ll miss him. We knew a few days ago that four people would be transferred but we didn’t know who. After figuring everything out we thought that one person from every area would be transferred but it wasn’t the case. I spent last night packing some stuff away thinking that I would be transferred but I wasn’t. I’m really glad that I’m staying here.

This week I was feeling kind of sick. For a few days it was really hard to work and when I got home I just collapsed in bed and went to sleep. Right now I’m feeling a lot better. I guess there was a virus that got passed around because just about every family had at least one person sick.

There are quite a few changes that are happening on the mission. President Myrrha is doing an incredible work here. He and Sister Myrrha are constantly trying to help the mission grow. We as a mission are teaching and baptizing more and it’s really nice to be a part of it.

I’m going to have to be a little short today because of the stuff I have to figure out about college but everything is going great here in Brazil and I’m having the time of my life. Thanks for everything and I love you all!!!

I love you Infinity!!!
Elder Fowler
