Week 79 January 14, 2008

Family,

Happy Birthday Mom!!! So what are your plans for your birthday today? It’s my companion’s birthday today too! We’re going to be playing some soccer and basketball today for P-day.

This week we had a great week and hopefully either this week or the next we’ll have a baptism of a very special lady named Adriana. Also this week we had our zone conference. I always like having zone conferences. I received a note though saying that the post office in Santa Maria has taken something out of one of my packages or maybe it was a letter that they took but they told me that if I want it back I have to pay R$200. It only weighs 23 grams and I have no idea what it is. I went to the post office here and they said that they have no way of knowing what it is from here but that it was marked as being a tax on whatever it was that was sent to me. I can’t think of what it would be though. Oh and also it was sent on the 29th of December. This transfer is already half way done. Time on my mission now is just cruising by. I feel really really good though right now about everything. I’m having so much fun teaching and I feel so much more experienced. It’s amazing to see the changes that people make in their life.

This Sunday was one of the craziest Sundays I’ve had in my life. Saturday night the bishop asked me to give a talk in Sacrament meeting and I also had to give the Sunday school class. On Saturday night I was really surprised that I didn’t feel overwhelmed. I prepared my talk and read through the lesson and Sunday everything turned out really great. It’s such a great blessing to be able to serve and to be a help to the people here.

I’m so glad you were able to email sister Myrrha. Yeah that would be a really good idea to take a bus to Santa Maria and then we could take a car to the cities we’ll go to. I’ll find out this week which day exactly my group will be leaving and Pres Myrrha said that you could come 3 days before. I’ll talk to him and found out some more info too.

I hope that you have a great week mom. Thanks so much for everything you do. I am so grateful to have you as my mom that loves and has always loved me. You’re support and emails have helped me more than you know and I will always be grateful for that. I hope that you and dad get the card I sent soon.
