Week 67 October 22, 2007

Family,

Thanks for the pictures you sent. It’s so great to see how you all are doing. I’ll send some pictures maybe next week.

Hey this week I talked to Pres Myrrha about you coming here to Brazil. Here’s the scoop- you are definitely invited and encouraged to come here he said. He said that basically the only thing to do is make up our mind on what we want to do. He said that you would fly to Sao Paulo and then from Sao Paulo to Porto Alegre and then by car to Santa Maria. He said that you would probably do this a week before my mission ends so we would have time to drive around the cities I’ve visited and stuff. He also said that our options are open if we wanted to go to Rio or another place in Brazil. But here’s the hard part. From the airport in Porto Alegre you would have to drive to Santa Maria. He asked me how brave you are driving in Brazil. He also said that here in the south the traffic is much better than up north but Porto Alegre is a big city. He also said that you could email Sister Myrrha and she would be able to give us advice, good touristic places to visit, etc. I don’t know the prices or anything so that may be another thing to consider. Maybe you could ask Sister Myrrha about any great places to visit that wouldn’t be too far.

This week we had zone conference here in Uruguaiana. The meeting was amazing. President Myrrha has a great way of motivating us and his trainings are very helpful. Elder Kellet, my companion at the CTM, is here in the city and it was great to be able to talk to him a lot during the conference. Also this week we had our stake conference. President Myrrha talked there too and he gave an excellent talk on the priesthood and how priesthood holders shouldn’t be afraid of the potential that a priesthood blessing can have- we just have to be prepared and have faith.

Right now we’re teaching a wonderful family. Yesterday, one of the daughters, Jaciele went to the stake conference and had a wonderful time. She’s excited to be baptized and we’ll probably baptize her on the 3rd of November. We are also working still on having 2 families be baptized- they just need to be married first.

This week the weather here was really crazy. It’s starting to get really hot early. From what I’ve heard Uruguaiana is the hottest part of the mission during the summertime. This week we also had a random rainstorm. At 10:30 when we left our house there wasn’t a cloud in the sky but by 2:00 when we were teaching, it started to rain like crazy and it was even hailing! It wasn’t that cold but it was hailing. I took some pictures.

Last week we had a lot of fun playing soccer. There’s a lot of missionaries here that are really good. We’ll be playing again today hopefully. I hope that you all have a great week, I love you and I’ll talk to you all later.

Well I have one more request. Is there any way you could send me a copy of some more sheet music- All of Me, and all the music of the Pathetique Sonata by Beethoven.

Thanks for everything. Let me know what yours thoughts are on coming here to Brazil. Oh and do you know who would be coming here with you yet? Have a great week.

I love you infinity!!!
Elder Fowler
