Family!
First of all Happy 4th of July! Well another great week went flying by. The area we’re working in is so blessed. We’re finding a lot of great families that are interested in the gospel.
Last Wednesday after we used the internet, we four went to play soccer. It was the first time in a long time since I’ve played and it was a long time for the other elders too. It went really great but it killed us. When we got home, our legs were killing for days (I’m still feeling the effects of the game). Elder Christianson got sick from it too and had to stay in bed for a few days. It was a lot of fun though. Running in the cold air probably wasn’t that good for us though.
Today we had a fun activity. There’s a guy in our ward named Cleber. He’s a recently married RM and he’s a great guy. He’s our ward missionary leader here too. He took me and Elder Salvador into the jungle of Rosário today. He took some knives saying that we may run into some animals. We took some great pictures and had a great time.
There are so many dogs here. Every morning there’s at least 3 dogs just barking at each other constantly. One of the American elders here decided he couldn’t take it anymore. He opened up the window and started yelling in English at the dogs. I could not stop laughing. I’m sure everyone thought that he was crazy or something. Probably didn’t help the view of Americans that people have here but it was so funny.
We went to clean Jorge and Rita’s house this week but the ground was too wet still. Nothing ever dries here (my clothes have been hanging to dry since last Friday and they’re still wet). We wanted to take their furniture outside to get some air but it didn’t work out. I told Rita that it was ok that we could just move the furniture to one part of the room and sweep. She the said "oh but I already swept so you don’t need to". The floor was covered in dirt and I was shocked. They weren’t offended but they just didn’t except our help. Usually most of the houses here are really clean. People here really take good care of their stuff.
We had a lot of family nights this week with investigators which was really nice. They really helped out a lot. We watched films on the restoration and The Testaments.
Last night we had a great experience. There’s a guy that works as a security guard at a Pharmacy next to our house and we always pass him and say hi. He stopped us last night though and asked us if we could pass buy his house this Saturday.
Well yesterday, President and Sister Mack were officially released. They are home right now visiting their family. Tomorrow we will be traveling to Alegrete to have a Mini Tour to meet the new president. I’m really excited.
Last night I made a package of cheesecake. I’ve had it for a while but I never made it. I guess inside I knew what would happen if I made it in a house with four missionaries. The Brazilians here tried cheesecake for the first time yesterday and the cheesecake was gone in less than 2 minutes.
Well let me know how all the fireworks go! Have a great week everybody!!
I’ll talk to you next week. Happy 4th of July!
I love you infinity!!!
