Family,
Things here in Brazil are going great. Winter finally arrived. A few days ago I was sweating and it felt like summer but now I’m wearing a sweater with my big overcoat.
This week we made a lot of progress with our investigators. We met a family that is very nice. On the second visit they accepted the invitation to prepare to be baptized. Unfortunately a lot of the time with missionary work there’s bad news the same time that good news comes. There’s a family that we’ve been working with for a long time, Jorge and Rita, and we’ve been helping them try to stop smoking and drinking. Yesterday Jorge told us that he doesn’t want to stop smoking and won’t try anymore. We’re still going to visit them but we won’t be able to as much as we were. It was his son Felipe that was baptized last week. Tomorrow we’re going to do a service project at their house. We’re going to clean their house for them. Me and Elder Salvador decided that we can’t handle it anymore. Every time we leave their house we smell like smoke. The house is the dirtiest house I’ve ever seen. It will feel nice helping them out.
This week a married missionary couple left for home. They live in Rio de Janeiro. There was a party for them at the church here and there was a lot of people there. They stayed in this area for most of their mission so they made a lot of friends and even left presents for all the members.
This is another transfer that has cruised by. In less than 2 weeks I could be getting another companion. We’ve done a lot of work here and this last month has flown by. We’re still working on helping marry a couple here to be baptized. They’ll be able to marry the next month. Their story is very sad though. The husband hasn’t had a job for a long time now. He’s been searching but hasn’t found anything. It’s the same family that we did the service project of bringing them food that the branch donated. They still don’t have any clothes for their baby that will be born soon. We asked some members here and they’ll put something together to donate some clothes to the family.
President Mack will be leaving home this week. He sent us all a very inspiring email. I’ll forward it to you. It’s his last that he’ll send to us.
I hope that you have a great week mom. I’ll talk to you later!
I love you infinity!!!
