Hey Mom!
It sounds like everyone’s doing really great! Things here in Brazil are going great too. Well first of all, I’m soooo happy that they found my retainer mold. If it doesn’t fit then yeah I’ll go to a Brazilian dentist. I’ve been having nightmares in the night that my teeth will be all crooked and nasty. I can’t tell you how much of a relief it will be to not have to worry about that.
I guess the busy season of spring is coming for you guys. It’s weird to think that winter there is already over. It’s starting to cool down a little bit but from what everyone’s told me, it’s either really hot or really cold here and not much in between. I’m really excited for the cold though. I’ve always preferred the cold and it will be good to get back to taking only one or two showers a day.
Well this week went pretty good. We talked to a lot of less active people. It’s so much fun to help them come to church. Even though it isn’t a number we report each week, it’s really fun to talk and to share a message and become good friends with them. My mission is kind of hard to baptize compared to other parts of Brazil but it’s really easy to make friends and I’m glad for that.
Oh and I found out who our next mission president will be. His name is Elder Myrrha e a esposa Alessandra de Minas Girais. He will be the new president in June or maybe July.
Thanks for letting me know how the family is doing. Yeah you don’t need to send me some shirts. I can buy some here. I’ve been pretty cheap here on the mission. I haven’t spent a lot. I’ll buy some clothes and stuff when I get to other cities closer to the border of Argentina or Uruguay- everything’s cheaper there. I’ll send you Elder McLeod’s home address next weekend. Have a great week Mom and I’ll talk to you next Wednesday!
I love you infinity!!!

P.S. I got a letter from Dan. He sounds like he’s doing great. It will be great to be able to send letters to him. It’s practically free and it will get there really fast.
Hey Dad!
That’s great that you’ll be able to coach Anna’s softball team. It sounds like everyone’s going to be busy with sports and concerts and recitals. When I get home I’m going to want to find a place I could play soccer or basketball. P’days here are so much fun and I’m so glad that I got into sports before my mission. It’s been a lot of fun trying to keep up with the Brazilians in soccer.
I can’t wait to get those CDs. It will be great to listen to some classical music. Music CDs are pretty cheap here. Everything is sold illegally here but the police don’t really do anything about it. Music CDs are about 3 Reais ($1.50) for an illegal copy and about 40 Reais for an original. Later on my mission, I’ll start asking the Brazilians about some good music to buy to take home.
Did you see anything on the news about George W. coming to Brazil? He came here to talk to Lula (the Brazilian President). A lot of streets in Saõ Paulo were closed. It was a pretty big thing here. There were a lot of anti-Americans’ in the street with signs telling Bush to leave and stuff. Here in Alegrete it wasn’t bad but in a lot of other parts of Brazil it was pretty bad. It’s kind of funny to hear people’s thoughts on America. I get asked a lot of questions about Bush and stuff. One of the members showed me a clip of the news where Bush came here with 300 security guards and they closed off some roads in Saõ Paulo. In the end, Bush went a different route than everyone thought. It was kind of funny to see people’s reactions to him coming here.
So are things at work slowing down? Mom told me that you got a reward at work for how hard you’ve been working. That’s really awesome. Oh and how’s the training going with Lilly? Is she getting easier to manage? Has she already gone to the cabin yet? It’s almost getting close to cabin season- it’s almost that time where you drive in as far as the car will take you and hike the rest.
Well have a great week dad. Thanks for the email. I’ll talk to you next week.
I love you!!!
