Week 34 March 7, 2007

Hey

This week I’m a little short on time so I decided to just write about an experience I had.

This week was a great week. We talked to Sandra and she was having a lot of doubts still about baptism. She basically told us that she didn’t want to be baptized because she will have to work so much and won’t have time to see us anymore or go to church. I really felt discouraged after that but she said that we could come in and teach her. We went in and she had a few questions about what the church’s requirements are for studying so we taught her about reading the scriptures and praying and how much these two things can help us when we do them every day. During the lesson one of her neighbors came over and started talking to us. I wanted to talk to Sandra about the doubts she’s having and anything we could do to help but it kind of seemed awkward putting her in that situation with her neighbor there. We talked for a little bit and I started thinking about repentance. I remembered that Sandra had said a few weeks ago that she didn’t feel worthy to be baptized. I started looking up scriptures while everyone was talking. I then told Sandra that I just wanted to share one more thing. I shared a scripture in the Book of Mormon that says God will forgive us always when we ask intently for forgiveness. My companion was talking to Sandra’s neighbor while I was talking to Sandra so I felt more comfortable asking her about baptism. I asked Sandra what her doubts are and told her that we’re not here to force baptism but to help people who have a desire to be baptized. She told me that she does have a desire to be baptized and that she was worried that she would have to be perfect in going to church every day and fulfilling all the commands. I told her that just like the scriptures say we can always be forgiven of our sins. I talked to her for a while and she said that she would prepare for baptism. I was able to bear my testimony a lot to her and she accepted baptism still. It was a really great opportunity for me.

Well this week we had another really big storm. The wind and lightning were crazy. One of the thunders was so loud that my ears were hurting after. We stayed up late that night watching the storm.

Well I hope that you all have a great week. With the package maybe you could send me a few of my t shirts. I have a lot of white shirts to use but no dark ones that I can get dirty. The only other thing I need is my retainer. Let me know when you could get it. The faster the better. My one tooth is still moving a little bit.

Thanks for all your support and have a great week!
I love you all!
