Week 33 February 28, 2007

Mom,

Well first of all I got both of the packages you sent me. They were great! Thanks so much. I love the Hawaiian shirt and the chocolates. And those cheesecake packages I’ll eat pretty fast. I’ve been needing a calendar for a while. Thanks so much for putting the time in to make me one with pictures of the family. I also received a package from Summer and Denise which was really nice. They sent me a pink stuffed animal with some pictures and some treats and some letters and pink socks. I wore the pink socks yesterday and I think I started to scare my comp, but oh well.

Oh and could I get Dan’s address? I wrote him a letter when he was at the CTM but I don’t think he got it. I wrote it pretty close to when he would be leaving the CTM. It would only cost one cent to send a letter and it would get to him pretty fast. Oh and one more thing. I got a letter from Neil McLeod. He’s going to BYU and he’s doing great. His girlfriend got married but he says he’s fine with that. He asked me to send him some pictures from the CTM because they got deleted from his camera. I was wondering if you could send me those pictures and I’ll email them to him later thanks.

I love the pictures you sent to me of Hawaii. It looks like so much fun. Oh and about my retainer. What did the dentist say about being able to make a new one and how much time would it take? And how much would it cost?

Well, this week we’ve been trying to work out any problems that Sandra has. Yesterday she said she didn’t know if she can be baptized. We’ll be able to talk to her this week and try to work out any issues so I’ll let you know how that goes. I’m glad you looked into the parasite medicine. I won’t worry so much now if I have one. As long as the medicine will kill it.

Thanks so much for the testimonies of everyone in the family. I’ve read a lot of them last night and I really appreciate everyone taking the time to write and for you for taking the time to ask everyone and putting it all together. Denise in her letter said how amazing she thinks you are. She loves it how you are emailing everyone to let them know how I’m doing. Thanks so much for putting in all this time for me. I really appreciate it. I wrote a letter to the family but I forgot to take it with me so I’ll have to send it off next Wednesday. Thanks for everything mom. Thanks for your support and your example and love. I’ll talk to you next week!

I love you infinity!!!

P.S. Tell Anna happy birthday for me!

Dad,

I loved the pictures from Hawaii that you guys took. That place is so beautiful. You two must have had so much fun there. That’s crazy that you’re still putting in 13 hours each day of work. Do you think it will start to slow down at all? I got the two packages that you guys sent. You’ll have to send me some classical music that I can listen to- not in mp3 format because the CD player doesn’t play mp3´s. Also I have one request for you. Mom sent me a list of a bunch of different people’s testimony in the family on both sides. I was wondering if you could send me your testimony. Maybe some experiences you had on your mission or just describe what your feelings are this far in life. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it than you don’t have to worry about.

Well it was Carnival last week and it’s starting to die down. Carnival is pretty crazy. Here in Alegrete it’s not nearly as big as other parts of Brazil which kind of scares me. How did Dan do during Carnival in Rio? Rio is one of the most concentrated parts of Carnival. Grandma sent me a letter that talked about how Dan is doing.

I have to tell you about something that happened to me this week. Yesterday I had a division with Elder Williams. We’ve become really good friends here on the mission. He lives in West Jordan and has a year on the mission right now. We were talking a lot about what our lives were like before the mission and what our plans are and stuff. We got on the subject of grades. He told me how his dad would get mad at him when he didn’t have good grades. He then asked me how my dad dealt with my grades. I thought about how you’ve helped me and pushed me to do my best over the years. I told Elder Williams that my dad helped me better than anyone else could. I told him that my dad new exactly how to motivate me to have a desire to learn and a desire to do better.

I don’t know if I’ve ever really fully thanked you for that Dad. Not just in school but in every aspect of my life you have helped me grow. I thought last night about who I am and who I’m becoming. I thought about my life up to my mission and you’ve influenced me for the good in every single way. I just need to say thank you for always caring and showing concern for me. You’re one of my greatest examples in my life and I’ll always be grateful for what you do for me.

Have a great week Dad and I’ll talk to you next Wednesday.

I love you!!!
Elder Fowler
