Week 92 April 14

Family,

That’s so great to hear that Joel is doing great. Thanks for telling me about his homecoming talk. Yeah you don’t need to worry yet about talking about home. I’ve still got a long time till I get home and I’m not homesick yet. When it gets closer to me being home it may be a little harder but we’ll see.
Thanks so much for making sure everything is ready for my schedule at school. It’s so great to know that everything’s set for me going back to school.

This week we had some good times and some hard times. At the beginning of the week I was so sore. Last Monday we had played soccer with the elders from Uruguay and the next few days were so hard to move. I had to do stretches in the morning but even that didn’t help. I’m so used to walking but running is different.

This week we had a drastic change in temperature. We went from using fans to cool us down during the night to using blankets. Last night was very cold and right now my companion is using a thick jacket and gloves. I guess it’s supposed to start to cool down now. I really enjoy the winter here and I’m looking forward to never have to sweat again on the mission. We also had a pretty interesting storm this week. It was a very pretty lightning storm and we watched from our window at night for a while.

On Sunday we were planning on having so many investigators go to church but none of them ended up coming. It was pretty frustrating for us. We had talked to so many people about the blessings of going to church and we passed by a lot of houses on the way to church but no one went. Church was really great though. I always love hearing the testimonies of the ward members here. A lot of the members had gone to the temple the day before so it was a very spiritual meeting. To go to the temple here, each member has to pay $50 and take a bus for half a day to the temple. They really sacrifice a lot.
