Family,
Well a lot has happened this week. First of all General Conference was amazing. It seemed like the best conference I’ve ever listened to. Maybe because it was the conference I paid most attention to. I got to see most of it in English which was good. It’s kind of a pain hearing another persons voice over the prophet.
Saying goodbye to the members was pretty hard. Sunday before the transfers people asked me if I would be leaving. I told them that most likely not because I only had 4 and a half months in the area. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone. I made a lot of really good friends and I’m going to miss them a lot.
During the Transfer I renewed my Visa. It was almost 3 months expired so I was glad to get it done. At the one year mark we have to renew it. I ate lunch at McDonalds and it felt like such a luxury. Only rich people eat at McDonalds here. It’s really expensive when compared to a Rodizios Grill. I really did enjoy a Big Mac with a coke and fries though.
Uruguaiana here is very nice. Our area is smaller than my last area but it’s a very nice area. One of the members here said that she already feels like she’s known me forever. My companion Elder Corrêa is an awesome missionary. The first day with him I thought he was the craziest guy I’ve ever met but after a few days I’ve accustomed to him. He’s a hard worker and I’ll be able to learn a lot from him. Oh and here we live with 2 other missionaries again and I’m living with Elder Luciano! He was my companion in Alegrete and I was so happy to hear that we’d be in the same ward and house. We’re going to have a great time.
This week we were able to do quite a bit of teaching. We taught a very rich lady here. She started talking to me in Spanish and I was surprisingly able to pick up on quite a few things. It was really fun.
I got the package you sent and everything was perfect. The camera is amazing. I’m going to put everything in a box- the camera, blanket for Catiane- and give it to the assistants here to give to Elder Silverio in Rosário. The only thing about the package is that you gave me a Liahona in Russian I think. Ha-ha before my mission, Portuguese seemed like Russian to me too. Here on the mission we are receiving the ensign but only in English and we get it about 3 months after the members get it. For the conference ensign could you send me it in Portuguese? I’ll receive it in English and I’m going to download the talks from the conference.
Oh and when I left Rosário I made a few promises to some people. I promised a member that I was really close to that I would give him an American 10 dollar bill. Also I promised someone I’d give him a Jack Johnson cd. Yeah I know I made some promises that are hard to keep. I don’t know where I’d find an American 10 dollar bill and an original cd of Jack Johnson here would be $40-$50. So yeah, I was wondering if there would be any way that you could send me an original Jack Johnson cd (maybe one that has his best hits) and a 10 dollar bill. Sorry, I really hate asking for this stuff. Especially since I just got a package this week. I really am grateful for the time, money, and effort you put in sending me packages. I was wondering if I would be able to receive the cd and bill before Christmas because I thought it would be nice to give to them as a Christmas present.
I’ll talk to the mission President about you coming here to Brazil. I know for a fact that he’ll want you to come. He highly supports parents coming here after the mission. I’ll try to find out some more information. I hope that you have a great week. I’ll talk to you later.
I love you infinity!!!
