Family,
That’s so great to hear that Nate is engaged! Well, this is the last week of the transfer. I’ll most likely stay and Elder Salvador will most likely be transferred. Today’s been a really busy day and I don’t have much time to write. We tried getting everything figured out with the wedding of Catiane and Marcio. They’ll be getting married this Friday and will be baptized this Saturday.
Yesterday was a bad day for Catiane and Marcio. We went to their house to pick them up for church and Catiane was crying. She just recently had her baby and they don’t have any food and they don’t have money enough to pay their light bill. They said they weren’t going to be able to go to church because her kids were sick. We went to church and talked to the Branch President and the Quorum President. In Quorum, we announced that we’d like to do an emergency service project where everyone would donate a few kilos of food. We went by everyone’s house with a big pack and it was crammed by the time we got there. Everyone was so generous and the branch pres said that he would take care of the light bill for them. They were so happy. Oh and it was Father’s day yesterday here in Brazil and everyone was still generous to give a little of their time to help. It was a memory I’ll never forget.
Yesterday we ate lunch at Vagner´s house. He and Rachel have already headed out to São Paulo and will be coming to the states in a little bit. When we ate there Loren (the 9 year old girl) said that when she grows up she’s going to be a missionary. She’s the sweetest little girl I’ve ever seen and it was really nice to hear that their family is already planning on serving missions.
Well I hope that you have a great time in Colorado! I’ll talk to you next week!
I love you infinity!!!
Elder Fowler
P.S. On the phone on Christmas, you mentioned there being a chance of you and dad picking me up here on the mission. Is there still that option?
