Week 41 April 25, 2007

Mom,

Well this week was great. Elder Luciano is a great companion. He’s a clean freak which I was really glad to hear. He helps with the dishes and all that good stuff. We get along really great and I’ve really been able to enjoy the work here a lot.

About the shoes - Yeah these mission shoes will be fine for my whole mission. I can just order new ones when these run out- they’re really cheap. But yeah I was just wondering if you could call Men’s Wearhouse about the shoes that only lasted 2 and a half months. Then maybe you could trade them in for the Doc Martins or just get your money back. I’ll send you a picture of the shoes that you could show them if you want.

That’s awesome that Thomas got his eagle project all done. How much more stuff does he need to finish everything? I bet he’s excited to get his braces off too. Oh I haven’t gone to a dentist yet about the retainer. I got a little impatient and decided to see if I could get the retainer on. I was able to get it on but it was pretty tight. The first night hurt really bad but it doesn’t hurt too much anymore. I may just wait and see if the retainer will work as it is or I may just end up going to the dentist. I’ll wait and see.

This week was an awesome week. We were able to teach a lot of people and get some new investigators. We talked with someone on the road this week that said he was an antichrist but that we could share a message with him and his family. We went to his house yesterday not really knowing what to expect but the lesson went very well. I don’t know if the guy was just lying to us on the road or what, but he and his family really enjoyed the lesson and all said they would read and pray about the Book of Mormon.

This week we also had a family night with Sister Rosa. Only she and her daughter were home so they wanted more people. We talked about the 2000 stripling warriors and then after we all talked about our moms and how much they’ve helped us in life. I told them how you’ve helped me in my life every step of the way. After the family night, Irmã Rosa asked me more about you. You two would get along so great I know it.

Well this city now has only elders. Before there were two sisters but they both got transferred. It was nice having sisters but now all 12 of us can play soccer. The sister’s can’t play soccer or basketball with the elders. I think they just went shopping or something on p-days. All the elders here are awesome. I already feel like I’ve known them forever. We’ll be playing ball again today if it doesn’t rain.

Yeah I think that would be an awesome idea to send Irmã Rosa a present. If you do though, try to see if you could send it soon. Our conferencia da zona is on the 11th of May.

Well I hope that you have a great week Mom. Thank you so much for all you do and all that you’ve already done. I’ll talk to you next week!

I love you infinity!!!

Dad,

Well the second week here with Elder Luciano went really great. We really get along and it’s been a lot of fun working with him. This week we were able to teach a lot of people and get some new investigators.

So how are things going for ya back at home? What’s going on with LOST right now? Are people not watching it anymore? I hope its still going when I get back. How’s work going? You mentioned a new job opportunity a couple of weeks ago. Were you able to get it?

This week we were able to teach a really nice family. One of the kids told us that he was an anti-Christ but when we taught them he really enjoyed the lesson and contributed a lot. Things here have been kind of rainy these last days. One thing I’m really going to miss about Brazil are the rainstorms. These last few days have been nice. The weather here’s starting to cool down a lot. I’m told that I’m going to start needing to use my sweaters soon. I’m really excited for the cold. It will feel really good to not sweat.

I’ve gotten to know the elders here in Alegrete really well. Last p-day was a blast. We played soccer and volleyball and we had a ton of people there. I hope that today we have the same thing. It’s really cloudy so I hope it just doesn’t rain yet.

I’ve been listening to the CDs you gave me and I’ve really enjoyed them. It’s been really nice to have some classical music to listen to and Elder Luciano doesn’t mind it. With elder Martins I don’t think he could handle it.

Well I hope that everything’s going great for you. I’ve got to head out. I sent you an email with some pictures so I didn’t get as much time to write. I’ll talk to you next week!

I love you!!!
