Hey!
The baptism was great! She was very excited and told us that she felt so much better after her baptism. She has a family of three kids and I saw them in the center part of the city yesterday and they recognized me and all ran and shook my hand. It really feels good to be part of their life. I have pictures but my camera is not with me right now. I’ll have to explain.
The last week of the transfer was great with Elder Ferreira. He was such a great guy and we got along perfect. I really didn’t want to change companions. He had six months here in this area though so it was pretty much set that he would leave. We visited a lot of people and he said his good byes. We had our district meeting this Monday to see who and where people would be transferred. Most of the people stayed. There was only one sister that got transferred and then my companion. I was really surprised to find out that I was called to be senior and my companion is a junior. I definitely feel a little overwhelmed. I’m kind of scared about my new companion. My companion is Elder Martins. He is Brazilian and is a nice guy. He has 4 more months left on the mission. He was doing a division within his last city and he and another missionary went off to some girls’ house and didn’t get back until 5:30 in the morning. One of the missionaries called President Mack and one of the elders got sent home but not elder Martins. I’m definitely going to be extra cautious this transfer. I’m reminded a lot about my patriarchal blessing that says to stay by my companion. I haven’t been able to get to know him too well yet but hope that he will work now after almost getting sent home. I’m now a senior and so I’m responsible for the area. Dad, it reminded me of when you told me about some of the missionaries in your mission. I’m going to have to be careful this transfer. I’ll let you know more next week.
Well about the pictures. The one with the boy on the ladder- he is a kid from the family that we did a service project of painting their house. We played soccer together a little bit. My rash has gone down quite a bit. Well it actually wasn’t a rash it was mosquito bites. That’s what happens when you don’t use a fan. The power went off in the night and the fan stopped working and my leg was exposed.
I haven’t heard much about how I’ll be able to call you. I talked to one of the elders and he said that last year he was able to use the church phone and call direct. The church secretary let him use it. We’ll have to see. We’ll probably find out more at our zone conference.
That’s so cool that you’re able to train Lilly a little bit. Just have her trained to bathe herself by the time I get back :)
I haven’t even tried using my credit card yet so I’ll have to try it and let you know next week. Oh and about the MP3 player. That’s fine that you didn’t send it. I was thinking about it and I’d rather have a discman than a mp3 player. Batteries are way expensive and with a discman I could plug it directly into the wall. I talked to one of the elders here Elder Williams who I’m really good friends with here. He said that his mom sent him a package with a discman and speakers and it got there fine. She even wrote that the discman was in the package. Don’t worry though I don’t need one right now. Maybe you could send one later on in the mission.
Well, thanks for telling me about the lesson from Joy Monson and Sister Kickuchi. I love it when you tell me about the lessons from church. I’ll send you some more pictures next week. I’m here in the center of the city and I don’t have my camera it’s at my house (long story). Have a great week and I’ll talk to you next week.
I love you infinity!!!
