Week 99 June 2, 2008

Family,

Unfortunately the temple dedication in Curitiba didn’t work out. We were at the church waiting and we never received the transmission. Apparently, there were over 100 stakes that weren’t receiving the transmission too. We were pretty sad when we weren’t able to see it but that’s ok. It was definitely worth the long walk in the cold because Moacir went with us! It was so awesome to see someone that me and Elder Santiago baptized worthy to go to the temple and is willing to wake up early to go to the dedication.

This week was another really nice week. At the beginning of the week I was kind of frustrated with the people not going to church and on Wednesday I really wanted to find a family to teach. I was praying throughout the whole day to be able to find a family that wants to hear the gospel. It was raining and almost all of our plans and appointments had fallen through but before the day ended we found an amazing family. They even know the Patriarch very well and we will have a family night there this next week. It was a very important experience for me and I felt so good at the end of the day.

There’s an elder that’s living in the same house as me named Elder Paz and this is his last week here. It’s so weird to see him finish his mission because next transfer it will be me that’s going home but it doesn’t seem so close to me yet.

It’s been really really cold this week and I’ve already used my overcoat. We’re going to play soccer today and eat at a churrascaria to celebrate Elder Paz´s last week here.

It’s so crazy to hear that Thomas has graduated and school is over. I bet everyone is so excited. I hope that you all have a great week and I love you and will talk to you all later!

I love you infinity!
Elder Fowler
