Week 96 May 12, 2008

Family,

It was so nice to talk to you all yesterday! It’s so good to hear that everyone’s doing great. This was the last phone call I’ll make here on the mission and the next time I talk to you all will be in person.

I’m glad that you had a wonderful mother’s day, Mom. I really miss you but I’m not overly anxious to end my mission yet. I’m really happy with the fact that I’m not thinking about home a lot. I’m able to focus on the work here perfectly fine and I’m having wonderful experiences here.

Today we’re going to play soccer again and I don’t have a lot of time to write. I was planning on sending some pictures to you all but I lent the camera to someone and won’t be able to get it back till tonight. Next week I’ll send you all some pictures.

This last week we had a lot of interesting experiences. We talked to a lot of less active people this week and it was very nice to see the most of them showed up at church yesterday. There have been a few people that we’ve been trying to help that are recently struggling with a few problems. My testimony that God helps us and loves us has grown a lot these past few weeks here. We are teaching some people who have a pretty rough life and it feels so good to be able to testify to them that if they will put their life in God’s hands, they will feel His help in their lives. I love how simple yet powerful the gospel is. It’s been a really big blessing to me to be here and be a part of these people’s lives.

Well I hope that you all have a great week this next week. It was really nice to talk to you all. I love you all!!!

I love you infinity!!

(Excerpt from Mother’s Day letter)

“Mom, I know this church is true and I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I’m so grateful for the many experiences I’ve had here on the mission so far and for the experiences I will have in the future here. I know that God is leading this great work and that He loves us more than we can understand.”
