Week 82 February 4, 2008

Family,

Well, we had transfers and I didn’t get transferred but Elder Ball did. It seems like every time I have a great companion, either he or I get transferred. I did get some big news though. I’m now the new district leader and I’m going to be training too. It will be a lot of work but I’m really excited. Tomorrow morning I’ll be leaving to Santa Maria and I’ll be returning with my new comp. I’ll find out who he is tomorrow.

This week we had the baptism of Elton which was really nice. He’ll be turning 12 this year and will be passing the sacrament. It will really good since basically every week me and Elder Ball are either blessing or passing the sacrament. Elton told us that his friend wanted him to go to his house for the rest of their summer vacation in a different city but Elton told him he would only be able to go to his house on Mondays through Saturdays because Sundays he has church. He’s such a dedicated boy and it’s been a lot of fun teaching him.

Elder Pinheiro left home this week. He’s been here in the city for 10 months and he did a lot of great work here. This week me and Elder Ball were sick. Elder Ball had some stomach problems for a few days and we didn’t work that much. Yesterday I was getting a fever and my body was aching all over. This morning I felt a lot better though.

Last night I had a really great experience that I’ll never forget. One of my favorite families here- Claudia and Clenise- has had some problems with there baby boy David. He ended up going to the hospital because of convulsions and excessive fever. We went and visited the hospital and Clenise asked if I could give a blessing to the baby. I felt the spirit really strong during the blessing and I was so glad that I was able to use my priesthood to help. Claudia after told us how thankful she was and she told us that as missionaries we have a different spirit that we bring with us.

This next week will be full of a lot of new experiences I’m sure. It’s good to hear that you all are doing great. It’s so weird to think that Thomas will be moving away to college. Oh, does that mean he’s taking my car? Well have a great week everyone. I love you all!!!

I love you infinity!!!
Elder Fowler
