Week 39 April 11, 2007

Hey Mom!

I’m sorry that trip to St. George didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. It’s good that you guys were able to use the four-wheelers and stuff before you all got sick. What’s the situation with Jim and Sabrina. When will they be all moved it?

That’s so great that Great Grandma McShinsky was able to come and visit. Easter must have been a lot of fun this year.

I did receive your package. The chocolate melted a little bit but not much. I got the retainer fine and yeah it doesn’t fit. I’ll be taking care of that this week and I’ll let you know about it. Tell dad that I may need to use the credit card.

Well I’m here in Alegrete still with my new companion- Elder Luciano. He is such an awesome missionary. Just from meeting him at the Bus station, I’ve known that we’ll get along great. I’m really excited for this next transfer.

I’ll update you from this last week real quick. Elder Bahia who left during general conference got called by the Assistants and was told to pack his bags and leave for Santa Maria to be interviewed by the President. We were all thinking that he’ll probably just be transferred and be a junior but we found out yesterday that he got sent home. I really feel bad for him. He was a great guy and only had 1 more transfer left till he was going home.

That makes me so happy to hear about Corey and his friend. That’s going to be so awesome for him to baptize his friend. When will the baptism be?

Well I have to go sorry. I wrote to Dad so you’ll have to read his letter. I hope that you have a great week and that everyone is feeling better. I’ll talk to you next week!

I love you infinity!!!

Hey Dad!

It sounds like Easter went well. When I get back, our family is going to be really big. I will have to learn the names of a lot of new cousins.

Well I got a new companion yesterday. I think he’ll be my favorite companion here on the mission. He’s very humble, likes to work, and gives me food. He gave me some Argentina candy yesterday, which was amazing. He’s from Pernambuco- somewhere near Recife.

Well this week was another interesting week. Last Wednesday we had a party for Elder Martins with all the missionaries in the city. The sisters made the food and it was really good. We then played soccer with everyone. I didn’t know that we were going to play soccer so I didn’t bring clothes. I ended up borrowing some shorts and a shirt from Elder Arave and then played in my black socks and shoes. Later that day Elder Williams got a phone call from the assistants. Remember last week how I told you that Elder William’s companion, Elder Bahia, left during general conference with another Elder? Well Elder Bahia was told to pack his bags that night and take a bus the next day to Santa Maria to talk to the president. We hurried and left to his house to help him pack and say goodbye to some people there. We found out yesterday that he was sent home. It was really sad- he only had one more transfer left on his mission.

The rest of the week Elder Williams worked with me and Elder Martins. It was a lot of fun. We bought a chess board and played chess at night. I’ve gotten pretty good. I’ll be able to kick your butt now when I get back just wait.

I received the package that you sent with some classical music. I was really glad to get those. That will be really nice to listen to.

This next transfer will be a great one and I’m really excited. Yesterday I thought back on this last transfer and I actually learned a lot more than I realized. When I look at myself when I met Elder Martins for the first time, I was terrified. I heard he was a Zone Leader at one point and that now he was a junior. I felt intimidated because he was a lot older and I didn’t really know how to deal with a comp that didn’t want to work. I learned a lot from him though of how to best deal with those comps.

Thanks for the letter Dad. I hope that you have a great week. Oh and let me know about the cabin. Is there still a lot of snow up there? Talk to you next week!

I love you!!!
Elder Fowler
