Sam's E-mail - Week 9

Hey!

Well I’m so happy that Federer won. Who did Nadal lose to?
This week is the last week where I’ll have food already prepared for me so I guess I better enjoy it while I can. Things here at the CTM have been great. I’m really excited to go to Santa Maria. It has been pretty hot here the last few days. I went to the temple today and a girl came up to our district and asked where we were going and she said that she had a brother in Santa Maria right now. She said she was really excited for us and that we would be freezing cold in the winter.

I’m glad my car is all fixed and running well. Yeah I probably should have cleaned it a little more before I left. How much did it cost to fix all that stuff?

Yesterday I got to hear from Elder Uchtdorf here at the CTM. He is an awesome guy. We all got to shake his hand after. He told us that whenever times get tough to think of all that president Hinckley does as a 96 year old.

Well I bet you’re excited for lost to start. That will be a lot of fun catching up on Lost, 24, scrubs, house, Simpson’s, family guy, office, etc... You’ve got to keep the tradition going so when I get back we’ll still have the whole family over on Wednesday nights.

I’m excited for your trip you get to go to on Friday. You’ll have to send me some pictures. Oh by the way did you get a new digital camera yet? If not, what one are you thinking of getting? Well I’ve got to go so I’ll talk to you next week. I’ll let you know what Santa Maria is like. Next week I may even be able to send you some pictures. Have a great week! I love you!!

Hey Mom!

Well this is my last week that I’ll email you from São Paulo. Next time you hear from me I’ll be in Santa Maria. I’m very excited to go, I can hardly wait.

Elder McLeod is actually talking to President Cardon right now. I don’t know exactly what he’s going to say. He asked me to give him a blessing on Sunday and we’ve all been praying for him. I’ll let you know next week whether or not he was able to come to Santa Maria with us.

Well I’ll make sure to take a lot of pictures to send to you guys. I got some really cool ones on the roof. President Cardon has really only talked to me a few times. He doesn’t really talk to missionaries one on one. He brought me into his office a few weeks ago to ask me about Elder McLeod. He’s a very nice guy and very spiritual. He’s met President Hinckley before. President Cardon is the head of a group of 5 or 6 hospitals so he’s pretty loaded when it comes to money. He’s just as spiritually strong too. His wife is about the most dizziest girl I’ve ever met. They’re a pretty funny couple. I talked to her a few times and she’s way funny.

I’ve been able to play the piano quite a bit. I wish I would have brought some music to play. I have to play it all from memory and play hymns. I don’t know though how much I’ll be able to play the piano in Santa Maria.

That’s so cool that Dan’s going through all the same stuff we did. I’m so glad he’s going to Brazil. He’s going to have so much fun. That’s so cool that Thomas is going to a dance. You need to tell me all about it. Even the parts where he gets sick of people asking him so many questions cause I’m sure that will happen. He’ll have so much fun.
You also need to tell me how your writer’s conference goes. That will be so much fun for you. You have so much talent.

Well the coolest part of this week was that I got to hear Elder Uchtdorf here at the CTM. I don’t know if I told you last week or not. He came yesterday and it was amazing. He answered a lot of questions and told us a lot of great advice. He is such a spiritual guy. He told us that when times get hard, just think of president Hinckley and all that he does. After he talked we all got to shake his hand.

How are you doing? That’s so awesome that you’ve started your dance class. I bet you’re so excited. I’m so happy that you made your school election. I bet your way excited. I remember reading announcements for the whole school when I was an officer in Jr. High. It was a lot of fun. You’ll have a great time. Have a great week and thanks for the email! How are you doing? Thanks so much for the email you sent me. I haven’t gotten your letter yet but I’m sure I will. I’m way excited. That’s so cool that you’re going to play chess. When I get back you’ll beat me in everything we play. Well have a great week. You’ll definitely have to let me know how Halloween goes. I bet your way excited to be a power ranger. Make sure to eat extra candy for me.
